Your comments...Erin's Story
Our daughter Erin has very dry skin and associated eczema which started causing us a real problem when she was just 3 months old. Her incessant scratching on her face, arms and legs was getting serious and the sight of blood on the cot sheets almost every morning was a constant dread. This on top of the disapproving looks from people we met led me to take some very drastic action. This included stitching socks to the end of the arms of all her clothing and effectively putting her into a straight jacket style sleeping bag each night with the arms buttoned down to the actual bag, so that she could not scratch. Cutting Erin’s nails 2/3 times a week was not helping and double rinsing all our washing and not using fabric conditioners was also the norm, and will strike a chord with any parents that have children with eczema. This was not what we wanted but it was the only means of preventing the scratching. read more

Hi, Thank you for the ScratchSleeves I have added a review to my blog: http://mymummyreviews.blogspot.com/2011/01/review-of-scratchsleevesthe-mitts-that.html
Thank you for the e-mail reply & yes- we now have the scratch sleeves- we think they are great!! (although my baby doesn't- he wore them for the first time last night & kept getting very cross because he couldn't work out them to get them off! All the other designs of gloves he can, so he is puzzled why these won't come off)!! Thank you
Hi there Just wanted to say a big thank you for your product! Your scratch sleeves have been invaluable to us and getting through each day with our daughters eczema and without them her eczema would be so much worse. They offer peace of mind at night time and on car journeys and are a life saviour on the very scratchy days. Thanks again
Hi there, Thanks for your advice regarding what to use instead of pyjamas. Much appreciated. And do keep me posted if you ever do make anything like this – I know a number of people who would bite your arm off for them. Just to let you know as well, when I had my daughter at her 3 monthly dermatology department at Edinburgh’s Infirmary, they told me that thanks to me telling them about them, they have been recommending the sleeves to all their child patients. So hopefully you have seen a bit of business come in via Edinburgh recently. Just putting in my order for the next size up as Martha has nearly outgrown 9-12 months. Thanks for being so inventive – you have made our lives, and especially our daughter’s, that little bit easier. Best wishes
Hi I recently purchased some Scratch Sleeves for my 10 month old son who has had eczema since he was a few months old. They are really good for his face. I was wondering do you do any other products and what make of clothes did you find worked best for your son. Clothing seems to make his skin worse! Thanks for any help or advice you can give me.
Hi, I just wanted to send you some feedback and congratulate the company on such a fantastic product. I purchased 3 sets of scratchsleeves recently for my 7 month old daughter and they have made a huge difference to our daily routine. My daughter suffers from acute eczema and since she grew out of baby scratch mitts we have struggled to find anything to cover her hands while she sleeps. She has scratched her face and head on many occasions and therefore we had to put socks over her hands daily. Despite the eczema on her body, her face was the worst, constantly weeping, red and itchy. Initially we believed this to be the eczema and tried all kinds of creams and steroids. It can be hugely distressing when your baby's face looks red and infected and I constantly had to explain to strangers that it was eczema on her face. However, once we tried the Scratchsleeves her face has virtually cleared up within 2 weeks. What we didn't realise was the abrasive fabric of the socks (which were only around 75% cotton) was aggravating her skin and not the eczema. I can now leave my daughter unsupervised (ie safely strapped in her pram or in her cot etc) for a few minutes without worrying she is scratching her face. I have also been taking a lot more photos of her recently! So thanks again for a wonderful product and for keeping the prices low (compared to many companies who seems to cash in on similar products.) Yours sincerely
